Travertine Classico Roma Slabs — B2B Supply

Process and Machine

Our slab processing begins with block selection at Italian quarries, where experienced geologists identify stone with consistent warm-beige tone, minimal fissures, and desirable horizontal wave structure. Blocks are then shipped to our Shuitou factory for gang-saw cutting into slabs (2cm or 3cm thickness). After cutting, slabs undergo resin treatment: color-matched epoxy is applied to fill natural pores and reinforce any micro-fissures. The filling process is followed by calibrated honing or polishing on automated continuous polishers with progressively finer diamond pads, achieving surface finishes from 200-grit honed to 3000-grit mirror polish.

Craft Heritage

While our factory uses modern machinery for precision and efficiency, the final quality assessment is performed by human inspectors with decades of stone experience. Each slab is examined under natural light for fill integrity, color consistency, vein continuity, and surface defects. Slabs that pass inspection are labeled with lot numbers, thickness, finish grade, and origin documentation. This combination of machine precision and human judgment ensures that every slab meets the standards expected by discerning fabricators and designers.

Exclusive Varieties

Travertine Classico Roma represents the classic grade of Italian travertine — the same stone family used in Roman architecture for two millennia. While we also supply premium selections with tighter color control and minimal veining variation, the standard Classico Roma grade offers the authentic character that designers seek: warm amber tones, gentle horizontal waves, and the natural pore structure that gives travertine its tactile, living quality. For projects requiring book-matched slabs (symmetrical vein patterns for feature walls and elevator surrounds), we reserve consecutive slices from the same block.

We supply slabs to fabricators, kitchen studios, and stone yards worldwide. Bundle purchasing (full container loads of 15–20 slabs) receives preferential pricing and priority block-lot reservation. Each shipment includes a packing list with individual slab photos, dimensions, and weight for easy receiving and inventory management. Slabs are packed in fumigated wooden A-frames suitable for ocean freight, with protective foam between each piece to prevent surface damage during transit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between filled and unfilled slabs?
Filled slabs have their natural pores factory-filled with color-matched epoxy resin, creating a smooth surface that is easier to clean and more resistant to staining — the standard choice for kitchen countertops and bathroom floors. Unfilled slabs leave the pores open, celebrating the stone’s natural texture; they are most often used for feature walls and decorative applications where the organic character is desired.
Can I see slab photos before purchasing?
Yes. For project orders, we provide individual slab photos taken under natural light before shipment. This allows fabricators and designers to verify color, veining, and fill quality, and to plan layouts that maximize aesthetic impact. We also offer video calls for live slab selection at our factory.
What thickness should I choose?
2cm slabs are suitable for wall cladding, bathroom vanities, and applications where weight is a concern. 3cm slabs are recommended for kitchen countertops, waterfall islands, and any application requiring structural integrity for overhangs or edge profiles. We can also laminate 2cm slabs to create built-up edges for a thicker appearance.
