Primavera Marble Bathtub - Hand-carved freestanding tub

Primavera Marble Bathtub

Hand-carved from a single block — geology meets luxury bathing

Golden Freestanding Primavera marble bathtubs hand carved from solid green Chinese marble with white and gold veining. Oval and round soaking forms in 1500-1800mm, smooth finished inside and out, reinforced and export crated.

Size and Shape Selection

Bathtub selection is spatial planning, not merely aesthetic choice. A Primavera marble bathtub weighs 300-450kg empty — the decision about dimensions affects structural requirements, delivery logistics, and daily comfort.

Small bathrooms (under 8m²): Specify 1500×750mm tubs. This accommodates most adults while preserving circulation space. Leave minimum 600mm clearance on the entry side.

Medium bathrooms (8-15m²): 1600×800mm tubs provide comfortable soaking depth and shoulder room. Position the tub as a focal point with clear sightlines from the entrance.

Large bathrooms (over 15m²): 1700×850mm tubs create a spa-like presence. In master suites, position near windows or in a dedicated bathing zone separated from wet areas.

Oval shapes showcase Primavera's veining patterns and provide ergonomic back support. Rectangular forms suit minimalist settings and maximize soaking length. Request a 1:1 CAD template from Apexstone — print it and place on the floor to verify fit before ordering.

Quality Control: Seven Checkpoints

A Primavera marble bathtub passes through seven quality checkpoints during 8-12 weeks of fabrication. Each stage has acceptance criteria that must be met before proceeding.

  • Block Selection: Geologist evaluates color consistency, veining pattern, and structural integrity. Blocks with hidden fractures or inconsistent coloration are rejected.
  • CNC Roughing: Dimensional accuracy verified — length, width, depth within ±5mm. Wall thickness measured at six points.
  • Hand Carving: Skilled carvers refine the form over 2-3 weeks, checking for surface defects and soft spots.
  • Surface Finishing: Polished through multiple grits (100 to 3000). Inspected for scratches, dull spots, or uneven sheen.
  • Drain Fabrication: Drain hole precision-cut to 50mm. Overflow slots carved with matching marble covers.
  • Sealing and Testing: Two coats of penetrating sealer. Tub filled with water and inspected for 24 hours — checking for leaks and weeping.
  • Final Inspection: Visual inspection under standardized lighting. Photographed from six angles, documented for shipment verification.

Installation Requirements

Structural Load: A filled bathtub exerts 600-850kg on approximately 1.2m² — a point load of 500-700 kg/m². Upper-floor installations require structural engineer certification confirming floor joists can support this load plus a 2.0 safety factor. Ground-floor concrete slabs generally accommodate the load without reinforcement.

Waterproofing: The floor beneath and surrounding the tub must be waterproofed with a continuous membrane system. Extend waterproofing 300mm beyond the tub footprint on all sides. The membrane must be continuous with wall waterproofing.

Leveling: The tub must be perfectly level to prevent stress concentration. We supply stainless steel adjustment feet and a leveling template. For full-bottom support, prepare a mortar bed (1:3 cement:sand mix) to 20-30mm depth.

Bulk Supply for Hotel Projects

When a luxury hotel specifies Primavera marble bathtubs for 100+ suites, consistency becomes the primary challenge. Each tub must display similar veining intensity, color balance, and surface quality.

We source multiple blocks from the same quarry vein and perform visual matching before fabrication. Tubs are grouped into "visual lots" — sets of 10-20 units with harmonious veining patterns. Each lot is photographed and approved by the client before carving starts.

For a recent 150-suite resort project, we selected 8 blocks over 3 weeks, created 8 visual lots, and delivered the complete order within 6 months. Dimensional accuracy was held to ±2mm across all units. Consolidated shipping reduces logistics cost — tubs for the same floor arrive together for sequential installation.
